Week of 9/25-9/29

This past week in ISM, I scheduled 2 new informational interviews with Dr. Andrew Koh and Dr. Cristyn Branstetter. I intend on using the information I gained last week in my interview with Dr. Aquino to help me prepare for these upcoming interviews. I am confident that with each interview and with more practice, I will improve and gain confidence while interviewing professionals. My goal for these next 2 interviews is to explore different parts of the pediatric oncology field specifically, rather than the field as a whole. I used this week to get myself organized and prepared as I head into the mentorship process. I have begun setting up my research portfolio with all the work I complete in the ISM program. I learned the importance of keeping this portfolio up to date as it is a reflection of the time and effort that was put into the research. In addition I have continued to keep my digital portfolio up to date as well. I am starting to see the importance of having all my research, blog updates, and interview assessments all on my digital portfolio. Having all this information together gives me the credibility I need as I enter the professional world. In this upcoming week, I will prepare for the business symposium, where I hope to meet new professionals in different fields of study as well as my own, and expand my knowledge on professionalism as a whole.
