Week 5/14 - 5/18

This past week in ISM I have been preparing and getting ready for the final presentation night. I have a video chat meeting with my mentor where we discussed last minute changes for my final product and presentation. In addition I have had the opportunity to reflect on the past year in ISM and everything I have learned from the class. I am incredibly thankful for everything ISM has presented me with, good and bad. Unfortunately, there were many time I had to listen to my mentor deliver some pretty heartbreaking news to patients and their families. During my time with Dr. Callan I have witnessed death, I have watched parents breakdown at the thought of their children's treatment, but I have also experienced the joy and gratitude for the patients that are successfully treated. While this was difficult, It is an experience I would have never received at a high school level if It wasn't for ISM. In addition I have decided that I am unsure if the medical path is right for me in the future. I will use the ISM experience to explore different career fields and find my passion. This next week in ISM I will continue putting everything together for my final presentation, so everything runs smoothly on Thursday.
