Week of 4/9 - 4/13

This past week in ISM I had the opportunity to shadow my mentor on who different mentor visits. On these visits I was able to meet different patients and learn about their diagnosis and treatment. Last Monday I was able to attend round and observe Dr. Callan in her clinic. Today I was able to spend the whole day at both Children's Medical Center and UT Southwestern Medical Center learning from my mentor and other professionals. I am confident that the time I spend working with Dr. Callan is extremely valuable. I am learning how to read X-rays and MRIs, and what to look for when diagnosis a patient. I am also becoming more confident in this skill as I know what specific details to look for in a scan. In addition, on this mentor visit I gained all the information and data I need to complete my final product. I am excited to begin finalizing my final product and producing something that I can be extremely proud of. In the upcoming weeks I hope to meet with my menor and gain feedback on my product progress. I also hope to attend more mentor visits and obtain more knowledge through observing.
