This past week in ISM I have been able to learn from experience with my mentor visits, as well as with my own person research. I have refocused my ides for my original product. Because of the short time frame and the lack of resources, I will no longer be completing a case study for my final product. I am now going to create a comparative analysis over Osteosarcoma at different stages. With the help on my mentor, I will be able to access these cases and use them without and patient identifiers. In addition I was able to go on my second mentor visit with Dr. Callan. On the visit I was able to revisit and follow up on some of the [patients I met on my first mentor visit. I spent time with Dr. Callan in her clinic, and then I went on hospital rounds with her following clinical rotations. From the time I spent with Dr. Callan I feel more comfortable being able to point out where an Osteosarcoma, or Osteochondroma is in a patient's x- ray. This is a skill that I have acquired through my time with Dr. Callan looking at different x- rays. I feel I have a lot of learn from not only Dr. Callan, but her resident and her nurse as well. I am looking forward to creating my final product and continuing my mentorship the remainder of the year.
