This past week in ISM I have made several major steps in my mentorship process. The knowledge and experience I have gained in the past week alone has be immense. Today I was able to shadow my mentor for the first time as she completed her clinical rotation. I was able to watch as she met with different patients at different points of their treatment. I believe this was an extremely valuable experience, as this was the first time I was able to gain real world experience. In addition during my mentor visit, we were able to discuss my final product. I am going to refocus my project to be more attainable in the next few month. My original idea to create a case study, while I belive it could be a great final product, it is not realistic for the time I have allotted. In the meantime, I will continue with my research. This past week I have also worked with my mentor on scheduling. I am excited to be shadowing Dr. Callan next Monday as well in her clinical rotation. Furthermore, I am excited to hopefully be able to observe a surgery in the near future. I am looking forward to the next stages of my mentorship.
