This past week in ISM I continued researching the development of Osteosarcoma, and Ewingsarcoma in children. With this information, I hope to continue expanding my knowledge as I work towards creating my final product. I have learned the basics of treatment, and well of the symptoms of this cancer. During my last mentor visit, Dr. Callan and I discussed the next steps in our mentorship. I am working on the application to be an observer onliside Dr. Callan at Children's Medical Center. I am looking forward for the opportunity to shadow Dr. Callan the rest of the year. I am excited for this opportunity, as I will soon be able to shadow Dr. Callan as she works with patients, as well as while she works in the operating room. The knowledge I will gain through the first hand experience is something that I would never been able to gain in any other class. This past week I have also updated Dr. Callan on m research and progress concerning the subject. This upcoming week I hope to continue with my research and communicate with Dr. Callan on scheduling and planning. I am in the final stages of obtaining my observership badge, so I hope I am able to complete this within the next week.
