Week of 11/27 - 12/1

Throughout the past few weeks in ISM I have been making improvements of my speaking and researching skills. I put together a 10 min speech in order to show the research I have done thus far. The experience I have gained while giving this speech has built my confidence and made me more aware of what it takes to become a successful public speaker. Public speaking has always been a challenge for me although this week, I was successful in giving my speech presentation to the class. In addition I have also began researching for my original work project. I plan to continue gathering information and resources that would benefit my website. Finally I have also been successful in scheduling 2 more informational interviews with doctors that I have contacted in the DFW area. I will have the opportunity to meet with doctors who specialize more in surgical oncology opposed to medical oncology. I am excited to use these interviews to help me expand my knowledge on different aspects of the medical field. This upcoming week I will begin working on my original work project, planning for the research showcase, and through my interviews, expand my knowledge on professionalism as a whole.
