Week of 10/16-10/20

This past week in ISM I used my time to organize and plan for the upcoming week. I have spent my time emailing professors at UNT in preparation of the UNT field trip this week. I am excited for the opportunity to see what actual college classes are like on a day to day basis. I plan on visiting a Contemporary Biology class with Professor Ratterree, and an Anatomy and Physiology Lab with Professor Curran. I learned the importance of sending emails to these professors in advance, to request sitting in on their class. I am still waiting on responses from the professors although, I am excited for the possible opportunity. In addition last week I spent time updating my digital portfolio with my recent interview assessments, research assessments, and weekly blogs. I am starting to understand the importance of keeping my portfolio updated as it leads me to make myself stand out to professionals among my peers. This upcoming week, in addition to the UNT field trip, I am hoping to schedule another interview with a pediatric oncologist in the area. I have had some trouble contacting doctors although my goal for this week is to call several doctors in hopes of scheduling another interview in the next 2 weeks.
